What is Teeth-In-A-Day All-on-4® Treatment?
Our dedicated team of dental professionals take great pride in their work. Being able to transform our patients’ smiles, give them back the ability to chew without dentures, improving their overall health – is what we do!
Teeth-In-A-Day is an implant system designed to allow you to walk into our office without teeth and walk out, the same day, with permanent teeth, no joke! You will receive four implants and a full set of new replacement teeth. Traditional implants require six, eight or even more implants per arch and patients often need bone grafting, which could require six months or more of healing time. The procedure saves you time and money, all with minimal discomfort. The All-on-4® treatment concept created by Nobel was developed to provide edentulous patients (patients with no teeth) with an efficient and effective restoration using only four implants to support an immediately loaded full-arch prosthesis. This procedure is not only for patients without teeth, if you have a broken down, worn smile that requires multiple extractions, the All-on-4 treatment could be the right option for you.
Benefits of Teeth-In-A-Day Implant Tooth Replacement Therapy:
- Same-day tooth replacement
- Look and function like natural teeth
- Preservation and improvement of the facial structure
- Long lasting tooth replacement
- Improved ability to eat
- Improved ability to speak
- Improved self-esteem
- Improved quality of life
Important Information About All On Four Denture implants
An implant supported denture is a type of over-denture that is supported by and attached to implants that are not removed from the mouth. Unlike regular dentures which rest on the gums and are not supported by implants, implant supported dentures require a visit to the dentist to be removed.
Implant dentures are used when a person no longer has any of their natural teeth but still has enough bone present in the jaw to support the implants. Implant dentures have special attachments that snap onto the implants for a more comfortable fit.
Choosing between implant supported dentures and regular dentures really depends on the preference of the patient. Some people may prefer the option of removing their dentures daily for cleaning whereas others may favor the security of the implants.
Two Types of Denture Implants
There are two types of implant-supported dentures that you and your dentist will talk about: bar-retained and ball-retained. In both cases, the denture will have an
acrylic base that will look like gums, but won’t really feel like them. Porcelain or acrylic teeth that look like your natural teeth are attached to the base. Both
types of dentures need at least two implants for internal support.
Bar-Retained Denture Implants
In bar-retained dentures, a thin metal strip follows the natural curve of your jaw and attaches to two to five implants that have been placed in your jawbone. The denture fits over the bar and is securely clipped into place.
Ball-Retained Denture Implants
For ball-retained dentures, each implant in the jawbone holds a metal attachment that fits into another attachment on the denture in a specific way. In most cases, the attachments on the implants are ball-shaped and they fit into sockets on the denture.
